Chicken Paprika

5-6 chicken breasts
3 T butter
1/2 C onion (sliced or chopped)
1 1/2 t salt
black pepper
Paprika
2 bay leaves
1 C sour cream

  1. Saute onion slices in butter on medium heat.
  2. Add chicken breasts; brown on each side.
  3. Sprinkle salt, pepper and paprika on top of chicken.
  4. Lower heat, add 1/2 C water and bay leaves.
  5. Place lid on pan and simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove lid; add sour cream; cook sauce down to thicken (approximately 15 minutes).
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
